Dear Parents and Carers
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26
Parent Evenings
This week we held two parent evenings to give parents the opportunity to discuss how well the children are getting on with their work and the progress they have been making.
Many thanks to the parents who attended, it is always a great pleasure to welcome you into the school and we value working in partnership with you for the good of the children.
It is a little disappointing for some of the children that a number of parents failed to make an appointment or failed to turn up for appointments arranged. This is an opportunity lost to help and support your children with their education. If you missed the parent evenings, you can still make an appointment via the school office.
Science Week
Next week is Science Week and the children will be taking part in lots of science activities. Please keep checking in on the class pages to see what the children will be getting up to.
Stations of the Cross
The children in Year 5 and 6 attended Church on Wednesday to complete the Stations of the Cross which helps the children to reflect on the Passion of Jesus and the sacrifice that he made for each and every one of us.
Lenten Charity
Today the children had the opportunity to take part in “Crazy Hair Day” which was a bit of fun for all the children as they could come into school with crazy hairstyles and donate money towards the Water Aid charity.
Next week the children are invited to “Wear Something Red” all for a donation for “Save the Children.”
We are asking for donations of Easter Eggs for our Easter Egg Raffle to date we haven’t received many donations. All money raised in our Easter Egg Raffle will be donated to CAFOD appeal for Ukraine.
School Nurse Team
The school nursing team are visiting the school to complete weights, measures and vision checks in Year R and Year 6.
50th Anniversary Celebrations
Many thanks to the parents who attended the meeting on Monday to discuss ideas for our 50th Anniversary. We shared many good ideas and had some very good discussion on how we can celebrate. If you were unable to attend and would like to offer your support or ideas please don’t hesitate to contact the school office or by my direct email: peter.mccabe@st-simons-ashford.kcsp.org.uk
Parking Again!
We are still experiencing issues with parents and parking. Please can all parents and carers show courtesy and consideration to each other and our neighbours at drop-off and pick-up times.
With best wishes
Peter McCabe
