A Letter From Our Chair of Governors Mrs Marcia Stevens

Dear Parents and Carers,

I can’t believe it’s now nearly a month into the new school year, and I am delighted to hear that all the children are settling in well to the new routines and also enjoying familiarising themselves with their new teachers and fellow classmates.

I would also like to take the opportunity to welcome our new Parent Governor Heidi DeWinter, I hope you will all join me in welcoming Heidi to the team.

It is exciting for me to hear how all the children are developing excellence in good manners, learning behaviours, sharing and caring.

The Governing Body is involved with our school at every level. This includes finance, safeguarding, premises management and staff appointments. As Governors, we consider our most important role to be the safety, welfare and education of our pupils. We strive in our school for the children to achieve high standards across the curriculum. We are justifiably very proud of them and would like to thank the parents who encourage and support their children so admirably.

We are proud that all of our staff have excellence at the heart of everything they do. We are proud of our families and are always delighted to hear their opinions and views.

As we begin the next phase towards a ‘new normal’, we may have many more challenges ahead. However, I am confident that our wonderful school community can work together to ensure that St Simon’s School continues to be a place where our children can work, learn, play and pray together fulfilling God’s unique plan.

I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible throughout the school year and I would also like to thank you for your continued support.

Take care and God Bless

Marcia Stevens
