Dear Parents and Carers

Sports Day, Family Picnic and Summer Fair

It was wonderful to see so many people turning up to support the children during Sports Day and at the summer fair.

The children certainly enjoyed the racing and competing against their peers. There were of course a few tears when things perhaps didn’t go to plan or when there was the minor trip or fall but these were outweighed by the enjoyment and sheer determination on the faces of the children taking part.

I am also filled with dread every year when I watch the parents and carers thundering down the track during the parents races and am mightily relieved that the school defibrillator hasn’t been needed as yet!

The family picnic and summer fair were very successful despite the weather not being the best. These truly are great occasions when we can get together as a whole school family.

Many thanks to the volunteers that helped put everything together we couldn’t have done this without you.

School Disco

The school discos were a great success the children had a magnificent time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves my ears are still ringing with the sound of “Baby Shark!” Many thanks to Mrs Brenchley, Mrs Keogh, Mrs Fassoli and Mrs Sharp for arranging this for the children.

Reports and Open Evening

On Monday you will receive your child’s final report of the year- this is a snapshot of how your child has progressed throughout the year so please take time to go through this with your children. On Wednesday 19th July from 3:30-4:30p.m you will have the opportunity to visit the school to look at your child’s work and visit their next classroom and teacher. I do hope as many of you as possible take up this opportunity.

Year 6 Residential Trip to PGL

Year 6 arrived safely back from their residential trip to PGL Marchants Hill they all had a fantastic time although there wasn’t much in the way of sleep for any of us on the first night as the children were so excited with spending their time away with their friends. Many thanks to Miss Wood and Mrs Shoubridge for giving up their weekend to accompany the children.

Year 6 Performance of Star Warts

Year 6 will be performing “Star Warts” to their parents on Tuesday 18th July at 6:00p.m. From what I have seen so far from the rehearsals this definitely shouldn’t be missed and I encourage all Year 6 parents and carers to come along and be prepared to be entertained by the children.

End of Term Mass

We will be joining Fr Hans at St Simon’s Church on Friday 21st July at 9:30a.m for our end of term Mass as with all our liturgies parents and carers are very welcome to join us.

Leavers Assembly

We will hold our final assembly for our Year 6 pupils on Friday 21st July at 2:00p.m in the school hall. This assembly is when we say goodbye to our Year 6 pupils and wish them the very best for the future. Parents and Carers of Year 6 pupils are most welcome at this.

With best wishes

Peter McCabe
