Dear Parents and Carers
“One of the greatest gifts the Holy Spirit can bestow on us is to give us calm in the midst of trouble.” St Claude de la Colombiere
Many thanks to all for attending Parent’s Evening this week using the “Schoolcloud” video call system. Apologies to those who patiently tried to logon but had difficulties with connecting we will do our best to catch up with you with a telephone call next week.
I am sure that you were all as disappointed as we were to hear the Government’s announcement that restrictions are not going to be lifted until another four weeks. This will unfortunately have an effect on what we have been planning for our usual end of term events.
All transition arrangements for our Year 6 visiting their new secondary schools have been cancelled and we will have to rethink our arrangements for our new Reception children as they will no longer be able to visit the school before September.
Sports Day and Sports Week
The children will be able to take part in Sports Day but unfortunately parents and carers will not be able to come into school and cheer the children on due to COVID restrictions not being relaxed.
Next week leading up to Sports day the children will be taking part in lots of Sporting Activities (weather permitting) so please make sure that your child comes to school dressed each day in their P.E kit with suitable footwear for sports.

To give parents the opportunity to view the work in pupil’s books we are inviting parents to come and view the children’s books on the following days:
Year R, 1 and 2 Wednesday 14th July
Year 3 and 4 Thursday 15th July
Year 5 and 6 Friday 16th July
The idea of the Book Look is very simple parents can arrive on their allocated day at 2:50p.m they can then go to their child’s classroom door and their child will come out with their books and both child and parent can look at the books together on our school field.
Then at 3:10p.m books can be returned to the classroom and the children can leave with their parents. Social distancing between parents must be maintained. Obviously this will be weather permitting as parents cannot enter the school building.
If the government decides to lift restrictions earlier than the 19th July we will of course review.
With best wishes
