Dear Parents and Carers
'Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.' -Harriet Tubman
Farewell to all leaving St Simon’s
Today we bid farewell to: our Year 6 children, Hope Year 1, Stella Year R and Mrs Williams as they move onto new challenges in new schools. We wish Mrs Williams and the children the very best of luck and every success. We will keep them all in our thoughts and prayers.

Free activities throughout the summer for children

Other Important School Changes
- From September we are starting the school day earlier at 8:40a.m.
Due to new government recommendation that all children should be in school for 32.5 hours per week we are changing the school starting time to 8:40a.m. and registers will now close at 8:55a.m. This means that any child not marked in after 8:55a.m. will be marked as absent or late.
School gates will open as normal at 8:30a.m and we will accept children in from then.
- Increase in the cost of School Meals to £2.59
The cost of paid school meals is increasing to £2.59 from September, to take into account the increasing costs of food and transportation of goods. This unfortunately is out of our control if you think you could be eligible for free school meals please don’t hesitate to apply.
- School restarts on Tuesday 6th September
School reopens for pupils on Tuesday 6th of September at 8:40a.m.
Finally, on behalf of myself and all the staff at St Simon’s I would like to wish everyone a relaxing and enjoyable summer.
With best wishes
Peter McCabe
