Weekly News 21 January 2022
Dear Parents and Carers
“Jesus proclaimed very clearly that he had come to bring the Good News.”
St Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa)
I am sure that all of you are as pleased as we are to hear the latest Government announcement that conditions around COVID have improved enough to relax the most recent restrictions placed on the country.
While this is very good news indeed it doesn’t really change a lot for us at school as we had already decided to keep our dropping off and collecting procedures in place as the children and most of our parents seem to prefer this.
To help develop the children’s independence and personal organisational skills we introduced a “no return to school for forgotten items policy” which we are keeping in place. We ask for parents support in applying this policy.
This week we said goodbye (once again) to Nshira, Kwadwo and Christabel as they have moved back to London. We wish the children and their family well and will remember them in our prayers.
This week we welcomed Delight, Ebuke and Emanuella to the school. I am sure that everyone will do everything to make sure that the children and their families feel at home and part of our school community.
Last night our school governors agreed our term dates for the 2022-2023 academic year. These can be found here: https://www.st-simon.kent.sch.uk/useful-information
Can I remind parents that the INSET Days are subject to change but we will always give parents as much notice as possible of any changes to published term dates.
One change to the term dates for this academic year is that we are allowed an extra one-day holiday to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The school will be adding this day onto the end of the Easter holiday so the children will return to school after the Easter on Wednesday 20th April.
I hope this will not inconvenience any of our working parents.
With best wishes
