Dear Parents and Carers
“Give something, however small, to the one in need. For it is not small to one who has nothing.”
St Gregory Nazianzus
Beginning of Term Mass
Today we celebrated the beginning of term with Mass at St Simon’s Church. The children were a credit to the school with their very reverent behaviour and excellent singing. Well done children.
School Values Week
This week the children have been studying our school values of: love, courage, peace, freedom, faith, justice, truth, forgiveness, respect and goodness. These values are at the very heart of everything we do at the school.
Each class has taken one of our values and produced some very thoughtful display work to act as a reminder to everyone in how we can help uphold these values in our lives.
Victoria Park Project
Year 5 have begun to work on the three-day project with artist Becky Vincer producing an educational resource on Victoria Park. The children will be working in the park on Monday and Tuesday next week so will need to wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions e.g. waterproof/coat in case of rain or cold weather.
KCSP Mass Wednesday 28th March
Year 6 will be joining other KCSP schools to celebrate Mass at Aylesford Priory on Wednesday 28th March. The children will travel to the Priory by coach, celebrate Mass and then have a picnic lunch with all the other schools in our trust.
It will mean that next Wednesday Year 6 will not be having their swimming lesson so we have added an additional lesson onto the end of term so that they do not miss out.
A big thank you to the Stour Centre and to our coach company R & J Coaches who have kindly rearranged this at no additional cost to the school.
Attendance Reminder
The school is no longer allowed to authorise absence for family holidays during term time.
School opening time has now changed:
8:40 a.m Registers open
8:55a.m Registers are closed children arriving after register is closed are marked as absent for the first session and this absence will be unauthorized which could result in a fixed penalty notice.
Parent Pay
We have been experiencing some issues with Parent Pay recently which parents have brought my attention hopefully these have now been fully resolved.
School Council
The children have now elected their new school council for this year:
Kylah, Dominc, Mikolaj, Isabelle, Malika, Benji, Logan, Hanna, Hanoc, Kascper, Oliwia, Marissa, Lian, Nanthuyan, Ciprian, Ciara A, Daisie and Matteo
With best wishes
