Weekly News 24 September

Dear Parents and Carers

“Let us allow God to fill our hearts with his goodness.” Pope Francis

This week the children have been looking at our school values which we encourage all our school community to follow. The children have produced some lovely display work in our school hall which reflects what the children have been learning.

Years 3, 4 and Year 6 enjoyed their visits to the Folkestone Triennial. The children took place in workshops and went on artist led guided walks visiting the various pieces of artwork which make up the Triennial. The children came back buzzing with excitement so I would thoroughly recommend a visit. More information about the Triennial can be found here:

Many thanks to Henry’s Nan for volunteering to help supervise Year 4 on the trip.

This week your children should have brought home a Data consent sheet this outlines some of the permissions we need from you to use your child’s data. Please return this consent to us by Monday 27th September so that we are fully informed about what data we are allowed to use e.g. if we do not have consent your child may not be able to use “Purple Mash” or “Bug Club Reader” or “Accelerated Reader” as these require data consent.

We welcomed Ewan a new pupil into Year 6 this week. This will be the first English school Ewan has joined since moving into this country from overseas. All the year 6 children have done their best to make sure Ewan has settled into life in St Simon’s.

Next week there is a new school meals menu which has some changes to the menu. The new menu can be found here:

Best wishes
