Dear Parents and Carers
“When we experience God’s love, we are more able to share this with our neighbour.” Pope Francis
Unfortunately, we have had issues with parking again with a small minority of our school community not showing one another care, courtesy and consideration.
We also have a small minority who think that it is fine to “park” or “wait” on the yellow Zig Zag lines at the school gates. This is not acceptable as it endangers all who wish to enter or leave the school site. It is also illegal and could result in a fine and penalty points on your licence.
I have spoken to the police regarding the unacceptable behaviour around parking at the school and they have informed me that they will be sending enforcement officers to check on this in the very near future.
Congratulations to Henry in Year 4 as he has won first prize in Ashford Rotary Club’s competition for Young Photographer of the Year. Well done Henry I believe his photograph will now be entered into the regional finals.
Visit by Annemarie Whittle KCSP CEO
Today we received a visit from Mrs Annemarie Whittle the Chief Executive Officer of our multi-academy trust. Annemarie joined us for Key Stage 1 assembly, introduced herself to the children and visited all our classes to meet the children and the staff.
Mrs Whittle was very complimentary about the school and enjoyed talking to the children and the staff about their work.
The importance of daily reading for children in all year groups cannot be stressed enough. Children need to be able to read so that they can access learning in all areas of the curriculum.
In school we have invested a great deal in providing quality resources for the children to enjoy using.
In EYFS and Key Stage 1 the children use the “Bug Club” reading scheme and “Phonics Bug” to teach reading.
With the “Bug Club” reading scheme not only do we have real books but the children have access to books allocated to them online.
All children have been issued with their logins and the site can be accessed by clicking this link: https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0 and then enter their username and password.
Children in Key Stage 2 have access to the Accelerated Reader Scheme in which they can read books and answer quizzes on the books they have read.
The children have all got logins to accelerated reader and the site can be accessed by clicking here: https://ukhosted43.renlearn.co.uk/2171850/ then enter their username and password.
Key Stage 2 also have access to “MyOn” which is an online library of books which they can read. This can be accessed by clicking here: https://www.myon.co.uk/login/ then enter their username and password.
If the logins for any of our online reading materials have been lost please speak to your child’s class teacher or email me: email@example.com and we will make sure that you have access to these.
Our school website is our main method of sharing information with Parents and Carers. To keep up to date please remember to keep checking out the latest news section and the scrolling banner on the home page. For Home Learning please remember to check your child’s class page.
Best wishes for a peaceful week ahead.
