Dear Parents and Carers

This Sunday is the start of the season of Advent, a word which means ‘important arrival’. Advent is the time to start preparing to celebrate Christ’s birth - God’s momentous arrival into our world in the person of Jesus.
On Wednesday 4th December at 9:00a.m our children’s Liturgy Committee will be leading the whole school in our Advent Liturgy. Parents and carers are very welcome to join us.
Year R attend Bible Blessing at St Simon’s Church
Today Year R took part in a “Bible Blessing” this is the first time that Year R have visited the church with the school.
Fr Jose blessed a set of children’s bibles and presented one to each child in the class. Many thanks to all who joined the children and thank you to Fr Jose for giving up his time for the children.
Mini Vinnies and Year 4 Choir members Carol Singing.
On Friday 6th December in the afternoon our Mini Vinnie’s and members of our choir from Year 4 will be singing Christmas Carols for the residents at Singleton Care Home.
I am sure the residents will enjoy the company of the children and of course their beautiful singing.
Year R and Key Stage 1 Nativity
Rehearsals for the Year R and Key Stage 1 Nativity are well underway. The dates of the performances are now confirmed as Tuesday 17th December at 1:30p.m and Thursday 19th December at 9:15a.m. All are welcome to attend.
Key Stage 2 Carol Service
Key Stage 2 classes are taking part in a Carol Service on Thursday 19th December at 6:00p.m. This will be an excellent way of getting into the spirit of the Season of Advent and Christmas.
Christmas Fair
Our Christmas Fair is on Friday 13th December at 2:00p.m. Many thanks to all who have taken part in our non-school uniform days to date. Next Friday the children are asked to come into school in their own clothes in return for a bottle for our bottle stall. (Nice bottles that adults like to drink are always best!)
A great big Thank You to all who have helped to wrap Christmas presents and have gone out to local businesses to ask for donations for our Christmas Raffle. Your help is greatly appreciated.
New Intake to Reception Class September 2025
I am holding open afternoons for parents and carers of reception aged children for September 2025 at 2:00 p.m on the following dates:
Tuesday 3rd December
Thursday 5th December
Wednesday 11th December
Tuesday 7th January
Thursday 9th January
If parents and careers wish to make an appointment on any of these dates or know of any friends or family with reception aged children for September, please can they contact the office.
Year 6 Multi-skills Competition
On Wednesday 4th December we have a team of Year 6 children taking part in a multi-skills competition at the Stour Centre. I am sure that the children will have a great time and will do us all proud.
