Weekly News 3 February 2023
Dear Parents and Carers
“Each person, according to their ability, should be a pattern of goodness to others.”
St Basil the Great
It has been good for the children to be able to get out and enjoy some dry weather and some warmer temperatures for a change- although children still need to be wearing school coats!
Strike Action
I would like to thank all our teachers who decided not to take strike action this week this was greatly appreciated by everyone.
The teaching staff have all indicated that they do not intend to take strike action on any of the other planned days by the teaching union. If this should change I will keep you fully informed.
Internet Safety Day
Tuesday 7th February is Internet Safety Day. The children will be carrying out work on how to keep themselves safe when using online resources.
Could I ask all parents to do their bit and make sure that they monitor what their children are doing when using online resources. Parents should also set parental controls on all online devices so that you can help keep your children safe.
If you need any advice on setting parental controls please check out our News and Events page on the school website.
Did You Know?
The age restriction on these Apps:
Facebook: 13+,
Instagram: 13+
TikTok: 13+
Snapchat: 13+
WhatsApp: 16+
There are very sound safety reasons for these age restrictions so please monitor what your children are doing.
Key Stage 1 and Back Packs
Children in Key Stage 1 do not need to bring in back packs to school. All they require is: their book bag P.E Kit (which doesn’t go home every week) and their packed lunch if they bring one.
We do not have the room on the children’s pegs to store large back packs.
Best wishes
Peter McCabe
