Dear Parents and Carers
“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.
Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” Marie Curie
The children have thoroughly enjoyed their learning during Science week. They have been studying lots of fun science on the theme of Food and Drink. Some of the activities undertaken were: baking cookies, making healthy fruit salads, discovering and investigating the viscosity of different liquids and Year 5 were destroying water melon with elastic bands! All of this was good fun and based on good scientific learning.
On Monday 12th July Year 6 are going on “A taste of Adventure Day” at the Blackland Farm Activity Centre. I hope they get a goodnight’s sleep and don’t stay up too late watching football as they need to be at school for 7:15a.m.
On Wednesday 14th July Year R are off to Victoria Park for an Explorers Day where they will be having a lovely time looking for different wildlife. They will then return to school for a picnic on our field. Let us all hope and pray for good weather.
This week Year 4 met Ms West who will be teaching them alongside Mrs Warren in Year 5 next academic year. I am sure that all will help Ms West settle into her new position at the school.
No doubt you are all as pleased as we are to hear that the government is looking to lift all COVID restrictions on the 19th July. We as a school are going to be cautious and will not be making any changes to our COVID risk assessment until the start of Term 1 in September.
Before we break up for the summer I will outline our plans for reopening in September.
Please note that the last day of term for the children is Wednesday 21st July and school reopens for the children on Thursday 2nd September.
