Dear Parents and Carers

“Trust the past to God’s mercy, the present to God’s love and the future to God’s care.”

St Augustine of Hippo

Congratulations Mrs Morrison

I am very pleased to announce that Mrs Morrison our Year 2 teacher has given birth to a beautiful baby boy called Max. Although little baby Max arrived a little earlier than expected we have been informed that mum and baby Max are doing very well.

I will pass on everyone’s congratulations to Mr and Mrs Morrison and I am sure that at some time in the future Mrs Morrison will bring little Max into school to show him off to the children in Year 2.

Mrs Morrison’s early departure from school has meant that Mr Macmillan-Parks has had to take over the teaching responsibility in Year 2 a little sooner than we had planned but I am sure that the children in Year 2 will look after him and will soon show him the ropes!

Goodbye Miss Okocha and Miss Kneene

Today we said goodbye to Miss Okocha (Year 2) and Miss Kneene (Year 4) our two student teachers as they have completed their placements with us and now return to university.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for all they have done for the children in their classes. The children have benefited greatly from their teaching and from the additional adult support they have offered while they have been working at the school.

I wish them both the very best in their next school placements and for their future teaching careers.

Internet Safety Day

Tuesday 8th February was internet safety day. This day is set to remind us all about the importance of making sure that children are safe when using online devices. The children completed work in all classes which offered them advice and guidance on how to keep themselves safe.

There is one important thing that we as responsible adults can do to help keep children safe is to monitor what the children are doing when online.

If you need any advice on online safety please don’t hesitate to contact the school.

Millionaire Readers

Congratulations to the following children who are “Millionaire Readers” these are children who have read over a million words when carrying out reading books in the Accelerated Reading Scheme.

Samuel (double millionaire), Alix, Kacper, Kavithan, Ruth, Nanthuyan, Chimdinma (Chimmy), and Fiodor.

School 50th Anniversary Logo Competition

This is an opportunity for all our little artists or graphic designers to design the official logo for our 50th Anniversary celebration. The competition is open to all children and the winning logo will be used in all our advertising and celebrations for our anniversary.

Half Term Holiday

Next week is half term holiday. The children return to school on Tuesday 22 February as Monday 21 February is a staff development day. I hope everyone a restful break.

Best wishes

Peter McCabe
