Weekly News 13 November 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

This week Year 5 led the school in our act of remembrance when the school observed two minutes silence with the rest of the nation on the 11 November Armistice Day. The children helped us to reflect on all those who have died as result of conflict and war.

The children worked very hard and must be congratulated on their very moving and thoughtful presentation all of which was prepared and then played remotely in all classes as we can no longer gather together in one place.

Many thanks, to the children and to all the staff who supported them with their work.

Many thanks, to all who supported the Royal British Legion in donating money for the Poppy Appeal a very worthwhile charity that supports the armed forces and their families.

Sporty Sprint for Children in Need

Today the children took part in a Sponsored Sporty Sprint in aid of Children In Need. Fortunately the weather was kind to us so that the children could complete this outdoors on the daily mile track. A great big “Thank You” to everyone who supported the children in their fund raising. Well done to our Year 6 school councilors for arranging the event.

We have sent out sponsor forms for the event however all money raised will have to be paid via “Parent Pay Accounts” to the following link:

https://app.parentpay.com/ParentPayShop/Foc/Default.aspx?shopid=1432

If you need help with setting up your account or need another letter, please don’t hesitate to contact me or the school office.

OFSTED

Visited the school on 22 October to look at how the school is doing since we reopened on the 7 September. The letter from the inspection team can be found on the OFSTED Reports tab on the Key Information Page of our website.

Online Safety

I have been informed by some of our parents that some children are talking about how they have been watching material that is inappropriate for their age. Please can all parents make sure that they monitor what the children are doing and watching online.

With best wishes

Peter McCabe
