Dear Parents and Carers

“If our hearts are closed, if our hearts are made of stone, the stones find their way into our hands and we are ready to throw them.” Pope Francis

It was good to see so many parents and carers attending our parent evenings this week. Thank you to all who completed our parental questionnaire your views are greatly appreciated and help us to improve our work with the children.

If you missed the opportunity to make an appointment to speak to your child’s class teacher you can still arrange an appointment for another time through the school office.

BBC Children in Need

It was good to see so many children taking part in raising money for this week’s BBC Children in Need. The children all looked very bright and colourful in their clothes, Pudsey ears and spots.

We raised £208.77. Well done everyone.

School Sponsored Walk

The final total raised for our sponsored walk was £1294.10 Well done to everyone this is an excellent amount of money raised from one event.

Many thanks to Year 5 who led us in our act of remembrance on Monday 11th November. Year 5 reminded us all of the importance of peace and praying for all who have died as a result of conflict.

The school was placed 1732 out of 4168 schools in England that took part. Year 5 were our highest performing year group. I personally feel we could have done better so next time St Simon’s let’s have a bigger effort.

Kent Fostering

Kent Fostering and Supported Homes are looking for new carers and hosts to join our outstanding fostering community in helping to care for some of Kent’s most vulnerable children and young people.

Being part of our team you’ll receive excellent support, fantastic training opportunities and could really make a positive difference to a child’s life.

If you’d like to find out more please take a look at our website where you can watch this short film which we hope will inspire you to think about fostering with us.

It's never too late to give a child a second chance to shine, become the person they can be, and make a difference.
