Weekly News Friday 15 October

Dear Parents and Carers

“To have courage for whatever comes in life – everything lies in that.” St Teresa of Avila

This week we held our first Parents Forum meeting for at least two years. It was excellent to have such a great turnout with all classes represented. We hope to be able to build upon the success of this meeting when we hold our next meeting. Minutes of the meeting have been posted on the Parents Forum page of our website which can be found here:

Today the children were able to take part in the “One Run Global Relay” where we joined other schools in running a mile all in an effort to get people moving and exercising. The children were challenged to see how many laps of our daily mile track they could do in 15 minutes. Well done to all on their amazing efforts.

Today the children who were registered received their flu vaccination. Parents can still register their children for this if they have missed it this time by calling the school nursing team 0300 123 5205 to book your child into the community catch up clinic at a later date.

Next week Year 6 have the opportunity to take part in “Bikeability Training” they will need to bring in their bikes on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Year 4 are taking part in cycle safe on Thursday so those who have registered for this will need to bring in their bikes on Thursday.

Don’t forget the Dr Bike surgery on Monday to book your bike an appointment email:

On Tuesday 19th October the school will taking part in a virtual Mass of thanksgiving for our Multi-academy trust Kent Catholic Schools Partnership when our new Chief Executive Officer Mrs Annemarie Whittle will be inducted. Two of our Year 6 pupils Josef and Filip will be representing the school at the Mass by reading the bidding prayers.

On Friday 22nd October at 2:00p.m. Year 3 will be leading the school in our Harvest Festival when we say thank you to God for all the gifts he has given us while at the same time remembering those who are in need. We are looking for donations of tinned and dried foods for our harvest display which will then be sent to “Vinnie’s Diner” a charity which provides meals for the homeless in Ashford area.

Please can all give generously to this very worthy cause and to support our Year 3 in their Liturgy.

With best wishes
