School Sport
Tag Rugby
On Monday we sent a team to take part in a Tag Rugby Festival. There was some very competitive rugby played during the festival and our team thoroughly enjoyed taking part. As it was a festival the event had no overall placings/winner but all were “winners” for taking part. Well done team!
Year 6 Football and Netball Tournament
A squad of Year 6 pupils are taking part in a football and netball tournament at St Anselm’s on Wednesday 24th May. The children will be expected to play both football and netball. I am sure that our Year 6 squad will give their best and do us all proud.
Change of Date for Sports Day and School Summer Fair
Unfortunately, due to Year 6 secondary transition visits we have had to change the date for our planned Sports Day and Summer Fair the date is now Friday 14th July let us all hope and pray for the weather being kind to us.
Times Tables Rock Stars
In the “Times Tables Rock Stars” we are currently 5th out of 30 local schools with an average time of 3.31 seconds.
We currently have 8 Rock Heroes (able to answer a question sub 1 second) and they are :
Abbhaya, Ruth, Kavithan, and Brayden Y5
Giselle and Lian year 6
Ethan and Sarhana Y4.

We have another App for the children to practice their mathematics which is the White Rose 1 Minute Maths App which can be found here: https://whiterosemaths.com/1-minute-maths this App may be more useful for our younger children.
New Intake Meeting
We are holding a meeting for the parents and carers of our New Intake on Wednesday 14th June at 6:00p.m. This will outline all the transition events/visits that we have planned for our new Reception Class for September.
St Simon’s Has Got Talent
Next week we are running our auditions for St Simon’s has Got Talent competition. We will then hold our “Live Show” on Thursday 8th June at 2:00p.m. Parents and Carers are invited to come along to the live show.
Celebration Mass for the Anniversary of the School
On Friday 26th May at 9:30a.m we are holding a special school Mass to celebrate the anniversary of the opening of the school. This Mass (weather permitting) will be held outside on our Key Stage 1 playground. All are welcome to join us to make this a very special occasion for the school.
