Singing in at Sunday Mass 15th January
Congratulations to all the children that supported the singing at Mass last Sunday. Their beautiful singing was very much appreciated by the Parish. The children’s singing helps to make the celebration of Mass that little bit more special. Well done children.
Cold Weather
We have been experiencing very cold weather over the last few days and while we haven’t experienced any real significant disruption to school by snow can I draw parent’s attention to our “Severe Snow/Ice” page on our website which outlines what we will do if we have any extended periods of bad weather. https://www.st-simon.kent.sch.uk/severe-snowice-plan/
As with any period of disruption we will only close the school if we have no alternative or if the conditions make getting to school too dangerous for the children and the staff.
Lost Property
We have in school quite a large amount of lost property that we will put out for parents to reclaim when weather conditions allow for this.
We always do our very best to return items which are lost to their rightful owners however many items in our “Lost Property” aren’t named so this makes it very hard for us to return these.
Please can all parents this weekend make sure that all uniform items are clearly named so that if they are lost we can return them.
Parking
This is becoming an issue around the school again with complaints from neighbours about parents parking or turning in their drives. It has been reported to me that some parents are parking cars leaving the engines running and their cars unattended. This is not only dangerous but also illegal under Section 42 of the Road Traffic Act 1988. This is also very bad for the environment and quality of air outside the school!
I have once again contacted Kent Police and have been assured that they will be visiting the area soon and will take any necessary action that may be required!
Additional Bank Holiday Monday 8th May 2023
