Dear Parents and Carers

“Peace of heart is more valuable than any treasure.” St Margaret Mary Alacoque

Year 5 and 6 TAG Rugby Festival

Well done to our Year 5 and 6 TAG Rugby team who played at the Ashford Schools TAG Rugby Festival on Tuesday 17th May. The children did exceptionally well as we had no substitutes due to a couple of late withdrawals from the team so the children did not have much rest. The children all had a great time even though they were very tired by the end of the festival.

A great big thank you to Mrs and Miss Shoubridge for accompanying the team to the festival.

Dress up as someone famous

On Wednesday the children were asked to dress up as someone famous from the last 50 years as part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations. This was a lot of fun for all the children and the adults who really got into the spirit of the occasion. Well done everyone.

Music Concert

Today the school held a music concert which celebrated music from the last 50 years. Each class performed music from a particular decade. Our school choir a performed a mash up of our 5 Caring C’s and “ABC Simple as 123” by the Jackson 5.

The singing was complemented by our instrumentalists on violin, recorder, ukulele drums etc. Mrs Withey-Harrison and the children have worked extremely hard rebuilding our music and it was good to see our music getting back to strength after we lost a lot of time during the pandemic.

Well done Mrs Withey-Harrison and children.

Many thanks to all the parents who came along to support the children. The large number was a bit of a surprise for us and it was a bit of a “squash and a squeeze” but everyone was very welcome and made the concert a very special occasion for the children.

School Class Photographs

On Wednesday 25th May the school photographer will visit to take whole class photographs. Please can all parents and carers make sure that children are dressed in full school uniform.

Mass for the feast of the Ascension

Children will be attending Mass on Thursday 26th May at 9:30a.m to celebrate the feast of the Ascension of Our Lord when Jesus returned back to The Father in heaven. You are all welcome to join us.

50th Anniversary Mass and Blessing of Faith Garden

On Friday 27th May at 10:00a.m we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the official opening of the school with a Mass and Blessing of our Faith Garden. We are hoping to hold the Mass outdoors so can everyone say a few prayers for good weather. Everyone is welcome to join us.

For the Mass we have invited past Clergy, teachers and Governors to join us in our celebration and to say thank you to for their contribution to making the school what it is today.

Many thanks to everyone who has helped and supported us with preparing for our celebrations we are particularly grateful to the Keogh family who provided the benches and flower beds in our faith garden.

“Street Party” for the Children

On Friday 27th May at 2:00p.m the children will be able to enjoy a “Street Party” to celebrate our 50th Anniversary of school and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The children are asked to bring in their own plate of food to eat at the party. The school will provide drinks and the games.

School Uniform- All children are expected to wear full school uniform and this includes a proper school P.E Kit

Parking- Parents are not permitted to park in the school carpark and parking on the yellow zig-zag lines is an offence which could lead to a fine and points on your licence.

With best wishes
