Weekly News Friday 24 March

Dear Parents and Carers

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for the gift of everlasting life. Please help us to be more compassionate as we journey through Lent together. Amen.

Congratulations to our Year 6 pupils who arranged an activity afternoon for all the other children. There were lots of activities to choose from e.g. penalty shoot-out for those who like their sport, guess the object in the box and guess the number of eggs in the jar.

All the children enjoyed the afternoon. Well done Year 6.

Next week we are holding our annual Easter Egg Raffle and I must thank everyone for their generosity in donating Easter Eggs for the raffle. One family generously donated over 94 Easter Eggs which is fantastic.

Raffle tickets are now on sale in all classes.

Passion Reflection

Year 4 will lead us in our Passion Reflection on Thursday 30th March at 2:30p.m. This is a very moving liturgy when Year 4 will take us through the journey Jesus took to his crucifixion and death on the cross.

End of Term Mass

The children will be celebrating our end of Term Mass in St Simon’s Church on Friday 31st March at 9:30a.m. as with all our liturgies parents and carers are most welcome to join us.

Football Match

Today our football team played against Beaver Green Primary School. This was a very competitive match played at St Simon’s. Congratulations to both teams on displaying great sportsmanship. The final score was 3-3.  Many thanks to Mr Hunt for refereeing the game and to Mr Macdonald for managing the team from the touchline. Well done both teams.

Easter Treats Meal

Our school caterers are offering a special Easter Treats Meal on Tuesday 28th March. Children can choose from: BBQ Pulled Chicken Burger or Southern Style Vegetarian Burger with a choice of sides: Chips, BBQ Baked Beans and Cucumber Sticks. For dessert the children are offered a Mini Egg Chocolate Muffin.

Easter Holidays

The school will break up for the Easter Holidays on Friday 31st March and the children return on Monday 17th April.

Term dates for 2023-2024 our published on our “Parents” tab on the “Useful” Information Page on our website.

With best wishes

Peter McCabe
