Weekly News Friday 5th January
Dear Parents and Carers
"God our Father, you gave us the greatest gift: the gift of life.
In the coming year, help us use it wisely.
May we grow in generosity, kindness and forgiveness, hope, faith, and love. Amen."
Welcome back may I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New year. I hope every one managed to get some relaxation and time to spend with family and friends over the Christmas holiday.
It was good to welcome the children back to school this week although it was a bit of a challenge getting out to school on Tuesday straight after New Year’s Day.
With children receiving presents of mobile phones tablets etc from Father Christmas I thought that I should give all a little reminder of a few important facts the minimum age for the following Apps:
TikTok 13, WhatsApp 16, X (Twitter) 13, Instagram 13, YouTube 13
All computer games have a PEGI ratings that confirms the content for a certain age group and above. So, a 7-rated game is suitable for everyone who is aged 7 or older, while an 18-rated game is suitable for adults only.
Please make sure that you monitor what your children are doing online and set appropriate parental controls and secure privacy settings. Please look at our guidance sheets on our website for help.
Better School Play times
To improve play times for the children we are looking for donations of the following items:
- Old cooking pots, frying pans for “mud kitchen” play
- Any old scooters that are still in good working order but may be unwanted as children got new ones for Christmas so we can set up a scooter track on the school playground.
- Any pairs of wellington boots which children may have grown out of and are still useable for other children
Children are also encouraged to bring in their own wellingtons so that they can play on our school field (Although the field is so wet at the moment they may need a boat!). If Children have their own waterproofs this is even better as it means they can keep cleaner while playing on the field.
Unfortunately, we have had an increase of children with head lice in school please could all parents check their children’s hair and treat as necessary. All children with long hair need this tied back when at school.
With best wishes for the New Year and Term
