Weekly News Friday 6th November

Friday 6 November

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to the beginning of Term 2. I hope everyone managed to have a good half term holiday. This term has already given us some challenges as we are now facing another lock down. Fortunately, this time the Government have decided to keep schools open. Let us all hope and pray that the restrictions that have been placed on the country will be successful in slowing the increased rate of infection.

We will keep reviewing our risk assessment and procedures to help keep everyone safe. Everyone must remember to keep their distance when dropping off and picking up children and observe our rule of only one adult per family to keep numbers down on site.

Parents Evening and Pupil Reports

Next week you will receive your child’s first school report. The report is just a snap shot of how well your child has settled back to school. We will give you the opportunity to discuss the report and how well your child is doing through “Video Call Parents Evenings” on Tuesday 17th November or Thursday 19 November. Full details of how to access the system and book your appointment will be included with your child’s report.

This is something completely new for us and hopefully it will all go smoothly but please be patient if there are some minor problems that we may have to resolve when dealing with the technology.

Poppies for Sale

November is the month of remembrance. This Sunday 8 November is Remembrance Sunday when the country pauses to reflect on everyone who has died as a result of war and conflict. We will continue to sell poppies before school next week.

Children in Need

On Friday 13 November it is “Children in Need” our school council have asked to take part in a sponsored “Spotty Sprint” and “Wear Something Spotty or colourful to school” to raise money for this very worthwhile charity. We have sent out sponsor forms today for this however all money raised will have to be paid via “Parent Pay Accounts” to the following link:

If you need help with setting up your account or need another letter, please don’t hesitate to contact me or the school office.

P.E Lessons

All children take part in P.E lessons in school and are required to wear the correct school P.E kit. We are doing quite a lot of our P.E teaching outside at the moment so could parents include a pair of jogging bottoms along with the regular P.E kit so that the children are warmer now that the weather is getting colder.

With best wishes
