Weekly News Friday 8 October

Dear Parents and Carers

“We will be the happiest people in the world if we belong to God.” St Teresa of Calcutta

The children in Year 1 and 2 enjoyed their visit to the Otterden Estate on Wednesday everyone had a very busy, tiring day but all said they would like to go again as they had such a great time. We hope to be able to continue with more days out to help enrich our curriculum.

On Tuesday 12th October at 2:15 p.m. we will relaunch our “Parents Forum”. The objective of the Parents Forum is to allow positive and effective two way communication between parents and the school, providing a channel for feedback and suggestions for school improvement. It is a key part of our positive and effective partnership between home and school to support the education and welfare of all our pupils. Please come and join us.

Many thanks to everyone who completed our survey on the structure of future parent evenings. We had a very good return. The majority of parents opted for a return to Face to Face meetings in school. Our first scheduled Parent Evenings are on Tuesday 9th November and Thursday 11th November from 3:30 to 6:00p.m more detail on how to book your appointment will follow closer to the date.

On Friday 15th October the school nursing team will be vaccinating children who have been registered with a flu vaccine. See below for further information:

“The Kent and Medway Immunisation Team is coming to school next week – don’t forget to do the online consent form if you haven’t already.

On Friday 15th October the children will be taking part in the “One Run Schools Day”. This is a global event in which everyone is encouraged to do at least 15 minutes exercise on this day. We will be participating with each class either walking, running, hopping or skipping around our daily mile track for 15 minutes. Let’s hope for good weather otherwise we all may get a little soggy!

Reminder on Monday 18th October Dr Bike will be attending school to carry out free bike checks and minor repairs to bicycles. (Parents bikes included)

Please book an appointment with Dr Bike by emailing: this is a free service which the school funds through our Sports Premium.

Next Tuesday Year 6 will be participating in a Restart a Heart workshop where the Fire Service will teach the children the basics of resuscitation and the use of the school’s defibrillator so that they will know what to do in case of an emergency.

With best wishes
