Dear Parents and Carers

“Anyone who needs me, and whom I can help, is my neighbour.” Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI

Welcome back Mrs Ebenebe

This week we welcomed back Mrs Ebenebe to school after her period of absence. Mrs Ebenebe has assured us that she is fighting fit so we will have to watch out for her on the dance floor at the school disco this week.

With Mrs Ebenebe’s return we have said goodbye to Mr Weaver who did a magnificent job covering for Mrs Ebenebe. Thank you to Mr Weaver for all he has done for our Year 4 over the last month.

School Disco

We are holding a school disco on Thursday 14th July for all classes.

Year R and Key Stage 1 from 3:30p.m until 4:30p.m. cost £3:00 this includes a drink and a snack.

Key Stage 2 4:45p.m until 6:00p.m. cost £2:00 and drinks and snacks are available to buy on the evening.

If you wish your child to take part please put money in a clearly labelled envelope.

School Report Open Afternoon

Today you should have received your child’s final report of the school year which is a snapshot of how well your child is getting on in school. For Years R, 1, 2 and 6 you should receive additional information in how they have performed in Statutory Assessments. If you need any help with understanding these please speak to myself or your child’s class teacher.

On Wednesday afternoon from 3:30p.m until 4:30p.m. we are holding an open afternoon to give you the opportunity to view the work in your child’s classroom and to visit their next classroom. Everyone is welcome however there will be no scheduled appointments on this evening.

On Monday 18th July at 9:10a.m we are holding a presentation assembly where we like to celebrate all the achievements of our pupils in assembly so if your child has received an award outside of school please send this in with a brief note of what the award was for so that we can all celebrate as a school family.

Year R Children

From Monday next week the children in Year R will no longer be dropped off at their classroom gate they will be asked to come in through the main entrance. This is so that we can help them get used to this for when they join Year 1 in September.

Year 2

To help Year 2 children prepare for September they will be going through the gates and walking around to their classroom from the outside and not through the main doors.

St Simon’s Has Got Talent Finals
