Provision for Key Workers for Term 5 beginning 16th April 2020
Dear Parents and Carers
Re: Continued provision for Key Workers children and vulnerable pupils
As you will be aware, schools are closed to all children except for those whose parents are identified as key workers or vulnerable children who have an Educational Health Care Plan. However, schools have been directed to follow guidance given by the government that all children who can be safely cared for at home should be.
The uptake of children at both St Simon of England and St Teresa’s Catholic School has been low, so in order for us to make this provision a viable option and in order to protect school staff and their families, St. Teresa’s and St. Simon’s have decided to combine efforts. Both St.Teresa’s and St.Simon’s are members of Kent Catholic Schools Partnership and as such have a tradition of working together.
From the beginning of Term 5, Thursday 16th April, the provision for identified children from St Simon’s and from St Teresa’s will continue on a rotational basis, with one week at St Simon of England RC Primary School then a week at St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School.
The provision will be run by staff from both schools so all children will have at least one familiar adult caring for them, no matter which site we are working from. Staff members will wear their school lanyard and will have access to the contact details you provide on the booking form attached. They will also be in phone contact with the headteachers and safeguarding leads from both schools, in the event of any incident.
We aim to provide for the identified children as long as we have enough sufficient numbers of healthy staff and we wish to extend our thanks to those key workers who are at the forefront of the present crisis, ensuring that the nation’s health continues to be prioritised.
In order for us to plan for this effectively please could you email your school firstname.lastname@example.org and complete the attached booking form no later than Monday 30th March.
