Dear Parents and Carers
“Holy Week is a time to give Jesus our hearts. On the Cross He gave us all of His love.”
St. Teresa of Calcutta
This Sunday is Palm Sunday the beginning of Holy Week the most important week in the Church Calendar as we walk alongside Jesus towards his death on the cross and then to his rising from death to new life on Easter Sunday.

End of Term Mass and Passion Reflection
On Wednesday 1st April at 9:30a.m the children will attend our end of term Mass in St Simon’s Church.
On Wednesday afternoon at 2:15p.m Year 4 will lead the school in our Passion Reflection when the children will show us the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. This is usually a very moving liturgy and all are welcome to join us.
Lenten Fund Raising
Many thanks to all who took part in our Year 6 Activity Afternoon. The children always enjoy taking part in this. Year 6 did a fantastic job planning and organising all the different activities for everyone to have a go at.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t the kindest to us and we had to move some of the activities inside. The children didn’t seem to mind.
This was our last fund-raising activity however Easter Egg raffle tickets will still be on sale next week. We could still do with more donations of Easter Eggs.
Mrs Cooper should be able to give us a grand total of what we have raised very soon so if all sponsored walk money is sent in as soon as possible this will make her task easier.
A great big thank you to everyone for the generosity and support given to the children in their fundraising this Lent.
Year 6 Hockey Festival
Well done to our Year 6 children who represented the school last week at the Hockey Festival. Mr Hunt was very proud of their achievements and how well the children played in very cold conditions. Well done children.
I am very pleased to inform all our Friday Footballers that we have two volunteers who have committed to helping Mr Hunt run the club. The club couldn’t continue if it wasn’t for the fact that Mr Hunt has help.
Now that Mr Hunt has help, we have decided that after Easter we will be able to invite Year 3 to join in the fun. Please watch out for the sign-up letter after the Easter holidays.
Illness Around the School
Good attendance is vitally important for children’s learning. However, we need to be very mindful that children shouldn’t be sent back to school too early if they have a bout of sickness and diarrhoea. Children should not return to school until 48 hours after their last episode of sickness.

With best wishes
