Year 4

Home Learning

The main purpose of home learning during this period of closure is to provide children with the opportunity to continue with their learning at home. Much of the work planned will need to be supervised and monitored by parents and carers.

Class teachers will monitor work completed in online software sites such as Purple Mash and My Maths. This is the work that needs to be completed and submitted by 4:00p.m each week day.

If parents have any questions or queries for class teachers regarding home learning please can they use the following email address:

We will continue to develop our resources for home learning.

A message to year 4 from Mr.Gizzi.

Dear children,
I am missing you all very much, not just the children who read with me, but everyone in Year 4 and the whole school.
I am looking forward to the day when St Simon’s can re-open and we can all see one another again.  Until then, one way in which we can feel as if we are still together is if we spend some time each day to read at home.  I am reading at my home every day and I hope you are doing the same at your home.  You can read aloud or silently to yourself, but either way, imagine that we are in school reading together.  When we are back at school, I will tell you about the stories I have been reading and I will enjoy hearing about the stories you have been reading.  So my message to you is: CARRY ON READING!
I hope you all have a very happy Easter and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
Best wishes
Mr Gizzi
