Weekly News Friday 7th November 2025

Dear Parents and Carers

“If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze!” St Catherine of Siena

Congratulations to the children on their singing performances at our Arts Week concert yesterday the children may not have set the whole world ablaze but they certainly livened up the afternoon with their talents.

Many thanks to all the parents and carers who supported the children with their performance.

Cycle Circle Team

The Cycle Circle team visited the school this week taking Cycle Ready sessions in Years R, 1 and 2. They also held Bikeability courses for Year 4 and Year 6.

For me the best sessions were held for children in Key Stage 2 who aren’t confident in riding a bike or for some not being able to ride at all. The joy on the faces of children as they mastered this skill for the first time is my pick of the week. Many thanks to Spencer and his Cycle Circle Team.

Battle of the Bands T.T Rock Stars

Mrs Warren had set two “Battle of the Bands” on Times Tables Rock Stars. Year 3 vs Year 4 and Year 5 vs Year 6.

Year 6 beat Year 5 and Year 4 beat Year 3. Congratulations to all who took part.

Act of Remembrance

On Tuesday 11th November at 10:45a.m Year 5 will lead the school in our act of remembrance when we will remember all who have died as a result of conflict during and since the First World War. Parents and Carers are very welcome to join us.

Children in Need

On Friday 14th November it is the BBC Children in Need. The school council have decided that the children can wear their pyjamas or non-school uniform in return for a donation to this very worthwhile charity that helps children who are in need across the country.

Christmas Fair

We are planning to hold our Christmas Fair on Tuesday 16th December. This is always a favourite with the children. We could do with support from parents and carers not just by turning up on the day but to help with the preparations. If you think you can help, please speak to a member of staff.

We are holding a number of special days on the run up to the fair to provide items for some of our stalls please see below:

Friday 21st November an item for our Colour Raffle. Children are allowed to come to school wearing clothes in their favourite colour in return for an item for our “Colour Raffle.”

Friday 28th November “Alternative Bottle Stall” children are allowed to come to school for an “Odd Friday” this is when they wear one item of odd clothing- could be a bright orange T-Shirt over their school uniform etc. in return for an item for an alternative “Bottle Stall” in other words bottles or jars of goodies/prizes that children might like.

Friday 5th December a nice bottle (the type of bottles adults like to drink in moderation of course!) for our “Bottle Stall” in return for this they are going to have a “Movie Afternoon”.
