Welcome to Year 1's class page 

Dear Parents, Carers and Children,

We hope you have all had a lovely and energising  summer break.

Term 1, will be filled with new learning challenges, exciting activities and opportunities to grow.

This term in RE, we will focus on God's Great Plan and his never ending love for us.

We will build on our phonics, reading, writing and maths skills

whilst exploring: 

 Place Value, Addition and Subtraction and Geometry in Maths.

Our focus in English will shift towards friendships, feelings and we will be given a chance to express all this through wonderful stories and poetry. Among the amazing texts covered this term, children will read: The Last Wolf. In Geography, under the overarching topic 'Map Makers' children will discover how to rea and use maps as well as how to use the world around them. In Art sessions, children will enter the world of drawing starting with the rudimentary 'line'.

In  Computing, we will be learning how to be safe online.. In Science we are going to  look at different every day materials.
