Year 1
Welcome to Year 1's class page
Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
.
We hope you have all had a short but energising break.
Term 6, will be filled with new learning challenges, exciting activities and opportunities to grow.
This term in RE, we will focus on Miracles and Jesus' great power to heal and his never ending love for us.
We will continue to build on our phonics, reading, writing and maths skills
whilst exploring:
Multiplication and Division, Fractions, Position and Direction, Place Value, Money and Time in Maths.
Our focus in English will shift towards friendships, feelings and we will be given a chance to express all this through wonderful stories and poetry. Among the amazing texts covered this term, children will read: The Colour Monster Goes To School and Heard It On The Playground. In History, under the overarching topic 'Local History' children will discover the history of their own school. They will be given the opportunity to talk to some of the previous pupils in order to compare their own time in St. Simon's.
We will also be studying Food in DT and interesting examples of technology in Computing. In Science we will continue to learn about Plants.
Let's work together, try our best and make another term a fantastic one!
As always, please come and see us with any questions, queries or news to share.
Thank you
